    New versions of the Draft Recommendations for RDF/XML Expression of the Dublin Core are now available.

    The DCMI Directorate is pleased to announce that newly modified versions of the Draft Recommendations for RDF/XML expression of the Dublin Core are now available for a second round of Public Comment until January 7, 2002. Changes have been applied to the sections on language qualification. Comments should be sent to DC-General.     Presentations from the DC-2001: International Conference on Dublin Core and Metadata Applications are now available

    Namespace Policy for the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) becomes DCMI Recommendation.

    The DCMI Directorate is pleased to announce that the document "Namespace Policy for the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI)" is now a DCMI Recommendation. We consider this one of the basic documents necessary for the effective deployment of Dublin Core on the Web. This document specifies the conventions used for identifying current and future DCMI namespaces. It gives the URIs for the DCMI namespaces and defines the policy for changes to DCMI terms.Thursday, November 15, 2001

    October 2001 DCMI Status report now available.

    Makx Dekkers, DCMI Managing Director, has published the next status report of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative, looking at all activities that have taken place since the DC-8 Workshop in Ottawa, October 2000, until the DC-9 Workshop and DC-2001 Conference in Tokyo in October 2001.Wednesday, October 17, 2001

    Revised Working Draft of a Library Application Profile is now available

    This document is a revision of the earlier application profile that clarifies the use of the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set in libraries and library-related applications and projects. It will be discussed at the DCMI Conference in Tokyo, October 2001.Friday, October 12, 2001

    New DCMI Update newsletter now available.

    The October 2001 issue of the DCMI Update is now available. The newsletter highlights news items, project and tool announcements that have occured since the last issue.Friday, October 05, 2001

    Two new documents are now available for public comment.

    Further to the announcement of 18 September, there are now two more documents available for public comment,. " Expressing Simple Dublin Core in RDF/XML" and " Expressing Qualified Dublin Core in RDF/XML." These two documents describe how Dublin Core metadata can be encoded in RDF/XML, and give practical examples. Together with the Namespace Policy, also under review, we consider these basic documents necessary for the effective deployment of Dublin Core on the Web.Friday, September 21, 2001

    DCMI-Government Application Profile is now available for comment

    A working draft for a DCMI-Government Application Profile is now available. This working draft was prepared by the Managing Information for e-Government (MIReG) group in conjunction with the DCMI-Government working group. The Working Group behind the working draft thanks everybody who has contributed and commented on the initial proposal. The intention is to submit a proposal to the DCMI Usage Board before the Tokyo Conference. The working group is still interested in comments, as soon as possible.Thursday, September 20, 2001

    The DCMI Directorate is pleased to announce that the document "Namespace Policy for the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI)" is now available for public comment until October 19, 2001. Comments should be sent to the DC-General Mailing list. This document specifies the conventions used for identifying current and future DCMI namespaces. It gives the URIs for the DCMI namespaces, defines a policy for changes to DCMI terms and discusses some major issues that were raised during the development of the namespace policy.Tuesday, September 18, 2001
