Got a question about Dev8D?
Find the answer here…
To get the most benefit out of Dev8D we recommend attending at least the full 2 days of event. You might want to also attend Dev8D+, the day before Dev8D, to extend your Dev8D experience. Of course, we know that not everyone will be able to do that, so each day also can also be attended as a stand-alone event.
Although Dev8D is a DevCSI event you don’t have to be a software developer to attend. Anyone with an interest in the technology or its applications is also welcome, we are particularly interested in users who have great ideas on how software could be improved or having new ideas for cool programs.
Dev8D is funded by the DevCSI project, which supports and promotes software developers in further and higher education. However, the event is also open to developers who work outside of education. One of the key aims of the event is to bring together developers from a wide variety of backgrounds so that they can learn from each other and share ideas.
First direct them to the business benefits on our Convincing Your Boss section of the Why Dev8D? page.
Dev8D is all about getting involved and learning from each other. If you have something you would like to show or demonstrate, please contact us.
Dev8D shares some similarities with BarCamps – it has the same friendly, supportive atmosphere and emphasis on collaboration and learning from one another. There are opportunities for attendees to share their work or give talks, but it won’t be compulsory!
Dev8D fun and games will be going on into the evening. We can’t confirm exact details just yet, but be assured that it will be fun!
Dev8D is a free event. Places are strictly limited so book early if you plan to attend.
There is no free accommodation this year but please see the venue section of the web site for advice about where to stay.
Submit a question and we’ll get back to you.
